Trunk show

For local (Northern California) area quilt guilds or other groups.  Trunk shows are always a great program.  My goal is to share the work produced over the past 30 years, and inspire new (or not-so-new) quilters to try different techniques.  I am very happy to take questions from the audience, and offer tips and suggestions.

Adapting an Image for an art Quilt

This is my newest lecture.  In college I took classes in photography, and as I saw the rise of photo based art quilts, my interests merged.  This lecture is part trunk show (I will bring quilts to show), and a power point lecture which shows how to choose photos to work from, posterization of images, and finally the nuts and bolts of assembly and quilting.

The use of textured fabrics and other embellishments in APPLIQUÉ

This power point lecture shows highlights of the many different types of fabric I use in my Baltimore Album style quilts, as well as other embellished quilts.  From silk fabrics, Ultra suede,  silk ribbon, wired ribbon roses, and inking on cottons, you can see all of the things that take appliqué to a new level, with added texture and realism.
